DC Area Bike Shops
Spokes, Etc: My local bike shop with five locations in Northern Virginia. Carries Specialized, Trek, Surly, and Salsa bikes. Knowledgeable sales staff and great mechanics.
BicycleSPACE: Located in Mount Vernon Square and a few blocks away from DC's Chinatown, this shop carries what I consider more "boutique" brands of bikes including Linus, Brompton, Pashley and accessories from Basil and Brooks. They also sponsor theme rides and yoga nights. DC bike bloggers rave about this shop.
Commute by Bike: Tips, news, reviews, and safety for bike commuters.
Bike Winter: With a little inspiration, education, and determination, it's easy to stay in the saddle year round.

General Cycling Info

Women's Cycling Forum: Part of the Team Estrogen site. Invaluable resource for female cyclists of all persuasions and skill-sets from the casual rider to the commuter to the racer. Knowledgeable and friendly forum where no question is too "newbie".
